The Green Investment Bank was set up in 2012 to accelerate the country’s transition to a green economy. It is the first of its kind in the world with £3.8Bn funding from the UK Government. The bank focuses currently on large-scale infrastructure projects such as offshore wind, waste to energy and recycling plants and energy efficiency refurbishments.
